Avance terms and conditions

Reservations:
All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Avance reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge for the customer.

Driver:
23 years old is the minimum age requirement for using cars of categories A,B,C and D; 25 years of age is the minimum age requirement for the rest of car categories.

Driving license:
Production of a valid license for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date, is required. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a valid international driving license, along with producing the national driving license.

Traffic tickets – Fines:
Traffic tickets and fines due to violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter. In addition, the Renter undertakes the payment of management costs, where required.

Means of Payment:
The Renter is required to produce a credit card as guarantee for the rental, even if payment is made in cash. Rental is prepaid.

Cancellations
Cancellation of a reservation must be done at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled date and hour of commencement of the vehicle’s rental (always according to the exact hour of reservation), as this has been made in the company’s reservations system. Should you wish to cancel a reservation, you should contact the company through the reservations system.

The following charges shall apply for the cancellation of reservations:

In case of a cancellation notice received by Avance at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, any amount prepaid shall be refunded.

In case of a cancellation notice received by Avance less than forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, there shall be no refund of any amount that may have been prepaid.

After hours deliveries – collections:
Customer extra charge: 25€.

Out of station deliveries – collections:
Deliveries and collections out of stations take place upon request by the customer. The extra charge for deliveries-collections within cities is 15€+VAT, while for out-of-town deliveries-collections, the cost is 25€+VAT, plus 1.45€+VAT per km.

Additional driver:
The charge for each additional driver is 4€/day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 3 persons.

GPS: The charge for GPS is set at 7€/day, upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 50€/rental.

Child seat:
The charge for child seat is set at 5€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 50€/rental.

Snow chains:
The charge for snow chains is set at 10€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 80€/rental.

Fuel:
The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum quantity of fuel, corresponding to ¼ of the reservoir.

Mileage:
Free mileage is provided for rentals of more than 3 days’ duration. For rentals of a duration less than 3 days, prices include a 100 km/day limitation. In the latter case, should the renter wish for free mileage, it can opt for the free mileage package, at a charge according to the pricelist applicable from time to time. Otherwise, for each additional kilometer over and above 100km/day, the customer will be charged, upon return of the vehicle, with an amount of 0.05€+VAT per kilometer for passenger cars, or with 0.15€+VAT per km for minivans.

Accident:
In case of an accident, the customer is charged with 15€ for the accident file administration costs.

INSURANCES:

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage:

over 600€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the A,B,C,C1,C1D,C1C,C2,C2C,CD,D,DD,DDD,DSW,K,K1,K2,K2MAN,K2F,K4,KD,KDD,GM,G,G1,G1G,G2,G3,G4,GD,GD4,GD6,GQ,GQD,J,JD categories
over 700€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the H1,HD,F7,F7D,FAD,FFC,FFD,F5S categories
over 900€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the FF1,F1,F2D,F3D categories
over 1200€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the J1,J2,J3,J7 categories
over1500€ +VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the FD,J4,J4F,JL,L,L1,L2,L3,LD categories

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage:

over 300€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 6€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories A,B,C,C1,C1D,C1C,C2,C2C,CD,D,DD,DDD,DSW,K,K1,K2,K2MAN,K2F,K4,KD,KDD,GM,G,G1,G1G,G2,G3,G4,GD,GD4,GD6,GQ,GQD,J,JD
over 350€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 6€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories H1,HD,F7,F7D,FAD,FFC,FFD,F5S
over 450€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 12€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories F1,F2,F2D,F3D
over 650€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 12€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories J1,J2,J3
over 650€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 20€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories J7
over 750€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 20€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories FD,J4,J4F
over 750€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 30€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories JL,L,L1,L2,L3,LD.

FDW – Full Damage Waiver:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of:

12€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories A,B,C,C1,C1D,C1C,C2,C2C,CD,D,DD,DDD,DSW,K,K1,K2,K2MAN,K2F,K4,KD,KDD,GM,G,G1,G1G,G2,G3,G4,GD,GD4,GD6,GQ,GQD,J,JD,H1,HD,F7,F7D,FAD,FFC,FFD,F5S
24€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories FF1,F1,F2,F2D,F3D,J1,J2,J3
40€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories FD,J4,J4F,J7,JL,L,L1,L2,L3,LD.

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

PAI – Personal Accident Insurance:

The renter is not covered by a “Driver’s Insurance” (PAI), unless he/she accepts and signs the relevant term of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/ rental day for all categories of vehicles.

Maximum amount of insurance compensation payable: 15,000 Euros.

Insurance Limits:

Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily harm up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€) per accident and for material damages by third parties (excluding the AVANCE vehicle) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€). In case of change of the above limits, the minimum limits, as defined by the applicable Greek legislation, shall always apply. Damages exceeding the insurance coverage limit, or excluded by it, shall be fully paid by the customer.

LW: Tire and glass break coverage:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car’s tires or glass only provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of:

Theft / Fire:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car in the event of fire or theft, provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/ rental day for the categories A,B,C,C1,C1D,C1C,C2,C2C,CD,D,DD,DDD,DSW,K,K1,K2,K2MAN,K2F,K4,KD,KDD,GM,G,G1,G1G,G2,G3,G4,GD,GD4,GD6,GQ,GQD,J,JD, H1,HD,F7,F7D,FAD,FFC,FFD,F5S, F1,F2,F2D,F3D, J1,J2,J3, J7, FD,J4,J4F, JL,L,L1,L2,L3,LD.

Main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or of unlawful conduct during the vehicle’s rental.

Road Assistance:
Avance cars are covered by 24hours road assistance. Road assistance’s contact details are stated on the rental contract.

Car transport out of the country:

Transport and driving of the car outside the borders of the Greek Territory is prohibited. Driving of the car out of the country is allowed exceptionally and only upon written permission by the company and payment of the amount which the company shall determine in each case.

Car transport by ship:

For the car’s transport by ship, the company’s written approval is required.

CYPRUS

RENTAL VEHICLE AGREEMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2016-2017

These Terms and Conditions and the rental document signed by you constitute the rental agreement between yourself and Y. Christodoulou & Sons Rent A Car Ltd representative of Avance Rent A Car .

You rent from us the car described on the rental document, which rental is solely a bailment for mutual benefit. You agree to the terms below, provided any such term is not prohibited by the law of a jurisdiction covering this rental, which case such law controls. “You” and “your” refer to the person who signs this agreement, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to Y. Christodoulou & Sons Rent A Car Ltd. You also agree that you are not our agent for any purpose; and that you cannot assign or transfer your obligations.

MINIMUM RENTAL CHARGE: The minimum rental charge is 1 day . Vehicles should be returned maximum 59 minutes later of the drop off time written and agreed on the rental agreement. In a different case extra charges will apply for the hirer.
RESERVATION LEAD TIME:
- a) 24 hours –1^stJuly to October 31^st
- b) 12 hours – Rest of period
DRIVING LICENSE POLICY:
- For all categories: A,B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2,E1,E2,E3,G2,G3,G4,H1,H2, minimum age 21 years. Drivers between the age 21-25 will be charged € 5,00 per day - paid locally.
- Maximum age rate 69 years old for all car categories. 70 years and over will be charge €5.00 per day - paid locally.
- Valid international or European Unions’ driving license for at least 12 months , Identity card or Passport.
- A. INSURANCES, EXTRAS AND SERVICES INCLUDED
THIRD PARTY INSURANCE (Required by Law): - Free of charge.
Coverage limits:
- a) Third Party Bodily Injury or death up to €33.540.000
- b) Third Party Property Damage €1.120.000
COLLISION DAMAGE (CDW): Covers the vehicle’s liability and fire with a deductible amount.

For car categories A,B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2, €600, for E1,E2,E3,G2, €800, and for G3,G4,H1,H2, €1000.
CDW does not provide any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due to infringement of Road Circulation Code. The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect. In case of car accident and damages police report is mandatory. Without police report the client takes full responsibility.
THEFT (TW): Covers the rented vehicle against total theft with a deductible amount. For car categories A,B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2 €600, for E1,E2,E3,G2, €800 and for G3,G4,H1,H2, €1000.
FIRE INSURANCE: Covers the rented vehicle against fire with a deductible amount.
REFUELING CHARGES: The vehicle is usually given to the client with a full tank of petrol free of charge. You will not get charged with a fuel service charge (missing petrol plus €20 service charge fee) only if you return the car with the fuel tank as full as when you received it.
Otherwise and as mentioned above, the company has the right to charge for the missing petrol plus €20 service charge fee.
24/7 ROAD ASSISTANCE
VEHICLE REPLACEMENT: within 24hours. 24/7 FREE ROAD ASSISTANCE within the territory of CYPRUS and telephone service support.
VAT, MUNICIPALITY TAXES: Included in all rates, extra services or products
ENVIRONMENTAL FEE, REGISTRATION FEE, VLF

KILOMETERS: Unlimited kilometers - Free of charge.

B. INSURANCES -PAID ON ARRIVAL

FULL DAMAGE (FDW) or SCDW and THEFT: Covers the deductible amount that is applied to the CDW coverage.

Daily charge: For all car categories (A,B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2,E1,E2,E3,G2,G3,G4,H1,H2) €10 per day-Paid locally.

FDW does not provide any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due infringement of Road Code Circulation. The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect. Police report is mandatory.

WHEELS,UNDERSIDE,GLASS(W.U.G) : Covers any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due infringement of Road Code Circulation, € 5 per day for all groups - Paid locally
PERSONAL ACCIDENT (PAI): Covers the passengers of the vehicle( NOT THE DRIVER) of up to €33.540.000, in case of death, body injuries to €33.540.000, total or partial disability. Not covered accidents that did not happen while driving the Avance hired car, accidents that happened before or after the rental, personal items stored in the car. The rental car is insured for one person – the named driver. If others are to drive your Avance hired car, then those people need to be present and show their driving license when the car is picked up. There will be an additional charge for each driver. OPTIONAL COVERAGE MIGHT BE OFFERED LOCALLY AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE

CROSS BORDER POLICY: Not available for Cyprus

Insurance companies DO NOT offer any cover while you drive to the North part of Cyprus, NOT under the control of the Cyprus Republic. Avance is also unable to offer any support there both in case of breakdown or accident.

Driving to the North part of Cyprus is done entirely on your own risk.

Y.Christodoulou & sons rent a car ltd has the right to claim from the hirer any amount to cover the whole of the damage caused in the Northern part of Cyprus.

FINES, EXPENSES, COSTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE FEES (for all Cyprus):

You’ll pay all fines, penalties and court costs for parking, traffic, toll and other violations, including storage liens and charges. You will also pay a reasonable administrative fee with respect to any violation of this agreement, such as for repossessing or recovering the car for any reason. You agree we may, in our sole discretion, pay all tickets, citations, fines and penalties on your behalf directly to the appropriate authority and you will pay us for what we paid to the appropriate authority or their designated agents plus a reasonable administrative fee. You agree and acknowledge that we cooperate with all federal, state, municipal and local officials charged with enforcing these infractions to provide any information necessary as they may request or may otherwise be required.

VEHICLE KEY:

Insurance does not cover any damage or lost of the key. In case of loss or damage of the key the hirer is responsible to pay.

SECURITY DEPOSITS (SD) In each rental a credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD, DINNERS, and AMEX) is essential. Deposit For car categories A,B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2 €600, for E1,E2,E3,G2, €800 and for G3,G4,H1,H2, €1000 plus rental charge. CASH DEPOSITS are accepted! Personal Credit Card, not Card Maestro (e.g.: Electron). Cash /Debit Card cannot be used as guarantee card but can be used for the payment of the rental.
ACCIDENT ADMINISTRATION FEE: In case of accident an administration fee of €50 will be charged. This charge applies irrelevantly of liability.
LOCATION SURCHARGE FEE: of approx. €20 for rentals commencing through an airport location.
VAT: 19%
CLAIMS: Any possible claimshould be stated to Y.Christodoulou & Sons Rent a Car ltd the latest in 30 days time after the end of the rental. The full written description of the problem is required.
RENTER OBLIGATION: The vehicle should be used only by the renter or other additional drivers mentioned on the rental agreement. The vehicle is prohibited to be used, for infringement of provisions of the Cyprus Road Circulation Code, for purposes opposite to the Cyprus laws, for towing other vehicles, in order to transport heavy objects or baggage, flammable materials, or smelly objects, to be used outside asphalt road network, under the influence of alcohol, narcotic or toxic substances, for transportation via boats or cross border rentals without a prior written authorization of Avance-Rent-A-Car Cyprus. Vehicles returned in bad condition and dirty in the interior will be charged for special cleaning with a minimum cost of €50.
TERMS, CONDITIONS & RATES: are subject to change with a written notification at least 5 business days earlier. Exception possible changes of the Cyprus Law or European Union.
CAR TYPES: All car types that are mentioned in catalogues are suggestive models and are subject to change with similar models at the Renter΄s discretion.
